Denver University Study

Denver University Study

As we communicated in late September, we pleased to bring you news of an exciting opportunity for instructors to help shape the future of Vail Resorts and the entire ski industry.

Vail Resorts, in collaboration with the University of Denver and the National Ski Area Association (NSAA), is ready to launch into a knee-injury prevention study. The findings from the study have potential to bring transformational change to our industry, and it is an honor for our company to once again be on the cutting edge of improving the ski experience for employees and guests.

In order for the study to be statistically significant, we will need a large pool of employees to participate in the study. For some, this will include equipment issued at no cost to the employee; for others, participation in a control group will mean simply completing a survey at the beginning and end of the season. For all, it means a willingness to try approaches and share ideas. We are inviting you to become a study participant. Please let your Location Manager know which group you would like to join.

If you would like to enroll, please read the DU Study Enrollment Details and FAQ, and then complete the Enrollment Survey.

For decades, our ski schools have provided outstanding service in introducing guests to skiing and improving their skills on the mountain. Your participation in this program will ultimately further our efforts to keep instructors safe and potentially create positive changes in the guest experience as well.

If you have additional questions, please talk with your supervisors or contact your Health and Safety team. Thanks for your participation!
